DIANA Vickers has had more hits than Britney Spears and Leona Lewis - on internet search engines.
The East Lancashire X Factor contestant was the third most searched-for personality by UK web users for the final quarter of 2008.
Money saving expert Martin Lewis was number one, American president Barack Obama second and Diana, who attended Blackburn's Westholme School, was third.
Diana's mum Anne said: "It's really amazing. It never ceases to amaze me.
"I'm absolutely chuffed that people are talking about her and interested in her."
The survery, carried out by online statistics analysts Hitwise, which monitors eight million websites daily, found that one in seven non-branded UK internet searches was for a TV programme or personality, while one in every 16 is music-related.
Diana, who reached the semi-finals of the X Factor and is believed to have secured a record deal, also received a surprise mention at the Brit Awards on Wednesday night.
Comedian Alan Carr, who was presenting the award for best British single, announced Diana as the winner as a joke.
As he opened the envelope on stage, he said: "And the winner is Diana Vickers. Oh, sorry, wrong show!"
Anne said: "Somebody text me saying that Alan Carr was saying she might be performing with U2.
"But I knew that although she was in London. She was busy with the X Factor tour.
"She's starting the tour in Scotland now. The first date is in Aberdeen.
"She's got together with all the other contestants and is really enjoying it."
Top ten searched-for personalities, according to Hitwise
1. Martin Lewis 2. Barack Obama 3. Diana Vickers 4. Britney Spears 5. Leona Lewis 6. Cheryl Cole 7. Georgina Baillie 8. Miley Cyrus 9. Nicola Mclean 10. Katy Perry

Diana Vickers has revealed that she has begun work on her debut album.
Speaking to DS at last night's premiere of 17 Again, the X Factor contestant confirmed that work on the LP was underway.
"I'm just starting it and I can't wait. I don't want to go into too much detail, but it's going to be special," she said. "It's going to be Diana-style!
"We're not going to rush it, so it's going to take time and I'm going to put everything into it."

The X Factor's Diana Vickers has split from her lover Chris Jones.
Vickers and Jones spent last Christmas together despite weeks of speculation that she was romancing fellow reality TV singer Eoghan Quigg. However, Jones has since confirmed that their relationship is over.
"It's all over between me and Diana," he told Heat.
"We're just best friends now, but we still really like each other. I don't think we will be getting back together again. As far as I know, she isn't seeing Eoghan, or anyone else. We're both single now."
Quigg recently revealed his new girlfriend Eimer Morran during a show in Donegal Town, Ireland.
Vickers and Quigg have both signed deals with RCA after being turned away by Simon Cowell's Syco label.

Hey everyone, sorry for the bit of downtime we had for a few days. I was being daft and tried to edit the layout, but it didn't work. However we are back, and bigger and better than ever with a whole new layout and even more content, and I hope you like it!
Like I said before, Diana has been signed by RCA Records, meaning she should be releasing sometime in 2009, and I cannot wait!

Diana Vickers has signed a deal with top record company RCA.
The X Factor star will join finalist Eoghan Quigg on the label after Simon Cowell's own company Syco refused the chance to take her on.
Quigg was signed by the firm earlier this month, according to The Sun.
An RCA spokesman told the paper: "I can confirm we have signed Eoghan Quigg. He is a huge talent and everyone is very excited to be working with him."
Cowell's representative said that his label had decided to focus solely on X Factor winner Alexandra Burke.
Runners-up JLS were recently signed to Epic Records.
RCA, Epic and Syco are all part of the Sony Music group.

It must be a bit overwhelming to be a 17 year old girl performing at nightclubs full of beery lads – as Diana Vickers discovered this weekend, when things got a little out of hand during an appearance in Salisbury. Diana was singing Take That’s Patience at The Chapel nightclub when a bloke in the audience stormed the stage and threw himself in her direction. Security quickly stepped in a wrestled him out of the way – and poor Diana got caught up in the fracas. She was then booed by some of the audience for leaving the stage, but we can’t say we blame her – it must have all been a bit scary. We also feel a bit sorry for the bloke who comes on at the end and has to explain it to all the drunk people…
