The X Factor finalist Diana Vickers has denied the winner's song, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, was chosen with her in mind.
The 17-year-old singer said: "No. Honestly at boot camp we all got given a list and we all had an opportunity to sing that song and it just happened I picked that and so did many of the other contestants. But all of us can put our different styles on it. Just because I've sang it once I don't think it means anything.
"Everyone was so chuffed when they heard it, we've all made it our own. Ruth's got the rock chick thing on it, Alex has given her twist, little Eoghan is singing a choir boy version and JLS have just mixed it up and it's amazing."
The other finalists agreed. Alexandra said: "Do you know what, when we got that song I thought, 'Oh my God'. Then I went upstairs, listened to it for about 10 minutes and thought, 'everyone can put their own twist on this'. JLS can do a Boyz 2 Men thing, Diana's already got her uniqueness on that song. Ruth can do a rocky version, I can do a soul, gospel version and Eoghan can do his thing with it.
"There's all these rumours about Diana but I think the competition is still well open for anyone to win."
Ruth said: "I don't think it's picked for a singer and after seeing Laura White go anyone can win this show." JLS's JB said: "We'll tackle it with the usual JLS swagger."

Fans of The X Factor have joined social networking groups in protest against Diana Vickers's hands.
The 17-year-old singer's kooky style involves a number of hand gestures, including stroking her face and curling her fingers.
Unhappy fans have now joined Facebook groups in order to express their dislike for the moves. "I am going to make it my mission to travel down to London and cut off her f**king left hand if she does not stop touching her face with it," one commented.
"Yes, you have a hand, yes you have a face, but you don't need to caress it every week."
More than 8,000 X Factor viewers have so far joined the groups.

CUTE Eoghan Quigg wooed X Factor rival Diana Vickers by pushing her over and pulling her hair, it has emerged. The young scamp’s knockabout antics won the heart of the 17-year-old blonde — according to the show’s creative director.
Brian Friedman said of Eoghan, 16: “He is kind of that little boy so in love who pulls a chair out from under a girl and pulls her hair. That’s how young boys express their love.
“And he’s done stuff like that to Diana — and she has a bruised leg from falling down.”
TV Biz told how producers walked in on the pair canoodling in the X Factor house last week.
Brian, 31, said: “I’ve never seen them kissing, but I have heard about cuddling at the house.
“Could you imagine if they were in the final together — ahhh. How cute would that be!”
The outspoken US dancer also revealed he has been fuming over Simon Cowell’ s weekly digs at his choreography.
And he said that HE, and not Simon, persuaded Britney Spears to sing on the ITV1 show this Saturday — her first UK gig for five years.

DIANA Vickers has spoken out about being accused of cheating on X Factor by getting a week’s ‘free pass’ for her laryngitis. The pretty 17-year-old told New! Magazine how hurtful it was to be condemned for not singing on Mariah Carey week – the show which saw Laura White booted off the show.
Diana explained: “It was the hardest thing ever and so upsetting. On the Saturday morning, I had a meeting with the producers and said, ‘If it means I’ll have to go, I will gladly get on that stage.’
“I was desperate to sing, so would never have pretended I was poorly.”
She also heaped praise on her mentor Cheryl Cole.
Diana gushed: “She texts us all the time and she’s always one step ahead and got the next week planned. When I met her I did think: 'This lady is too good to be true', but she’s just so real and lovely."
And Diana also said she would buy a dog if she won the show, and pay for her sister to go to drama school.

The X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman is frustrated that Diana Vickers hasn't danced yet in the show, and thinks it could lose her votes.
Brian worked out a big dance number for Diana but her mentor Cheryl Cole switched the song at the last minute.
"When Diana did Yellow she was actually supposed to be doing the All Saints song Never Ever but it was switched.

The X Factor finalists are reportedly 'furious' that a song performed by Diana Vickers in Boot Camp has been chosen as the winner's single.
The remaining acts are angry that bosses have selected the song 'Hallelujah' to be released by this year's victor, according to The Mirror.
Judge Louis Walsh told Vickers she had "made the song her own" after she performed it earlier in the competition.
"Tempers are running high. They feel it is just the latest in a series of stunts that have left them wondering if the competition has already been won," said a source.
"Many suspect producers are paving the way for Diana to win and there is nothing they can do.
"They feel even if the public put her in the bottom two, the judges will always save her."
The competition winner will perform the Leonard Cohen track during the final show. The single will be released on December 15.

The song choices for Saturday's X Factor have been revealed.
The contestants will be singing classic songs by reformed boyband Take That, who will also perform their latest single 'Greatest Day' for the ITV1 show.
Speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio 1's Breakfast Show, Louis Walsh confirmed that his act JLS would be covering 'Back For Good'.
Walsh had hoped that JLS, his only remaining act, would perform 'Rule The World' but Dannii Minogue managed to secure the song for her act Rachel Hylton.
He also confirmed that Eoghan Quigg will sing 'Never Forget' and Alexandra Burke will perform 'Relight My Fire'.
The judge added that Diana Vickers would probably be performing 'Patience', but criticised her performance last week.
When asked whether he thought Ruth Lorenzo could win, Walsh replied that it was unlikely as she is "Spanish".

Rex Features X Factor stars Eoghan Quigg and Diana Vickers are reportedly having a secret affair.
The pair are said to have been getting close to each other in the West Hampstead house shared by all the finalists, despite the fact that 17-year-old Vickers has a boyfriend.
"They're only young and hormones are flying about the place. They've got a really sweet relationship - but we did have to avert our eyes," a show source told The Sun.
Quigg and Vickers will take to the stage tonight as the final six acts perform songs by Take That.
Vickers will be attempting to garner viewer votes with her interpretation of 'Patience', while Quigg is tackling 'Never Forget'.
